Efficient 2D multiple attenuation using SRME with curvelet-domain subtraction

چکیده

Abstract Surface Related Multiple Elimination (SRME) usually suffers the issue of either over-attenuation that damages primaries or under-attenuation leaves strong residual multiples. This dilemma happens commonly when SRME is combined with least-squares subtraction. Here we introduce a more sophisticated subtraction approach facilitates better separation multiples from primaries. Curvelet-domain transforms both data and multiple model into curvelet domain, where different frequency bands (scales) event directions (orientations) are represented by finite number coefficients. When adaptive in time–space this method can handle prediction errors to achieve effective We demonstrate on two 2D surveys TAiwan Integrated GEodynamics Research (TAIGER) project. Flexible surface multiple attenuation using the curvelet transform

In this paper, we demonstrate that better primary preservation and effective surface multiple attenuation can be achieved by applying various iterative surface multiple attenuation approaches in different domains and in different areas. In areas where smaller moveout separation between primary and multiple exist, a conservative least-squares adaptive subtraction method is used to preserve prima...

Curvelet-domain multiple elimination with sparseness constraints

Predictive multiple suppression methods consist of two main steps: a prediction step, in which multiples are predicted from the seismic data, and a subtraction step, in which the predicted multiples are matched with the true multiples in the data. The last step appears crucial in practice: an incorrect adaptive subtraction method will cause multiples to be sub-optimally subtracted or primaries ...

Multi-term multiple prediction using separated reflections and diffractions combined with curvelet-based subtraction

The surface-related multiple elimination (SRME) method has proven to be successful on a large number of data cases. Most of the applications are still 2D, as the full 3D implementation is still expensive and under development. However, the earth is a 3D medium, such that 3D effects are difficult to avoid. Most of the 3D effects come from diffractive structures, whereas the specular reflections ...

Representation of Image in Curvelet Domain with dominant Curvelet Subbands

In this paper authors describe the Curvelet representation of image (object) with dominant angular subbands in Curvelet domain and analyse about the energy distribution for each subbands at different angles. Curvelet transform is localized not only in position (the spatial domain) and scale (the frequency domain), but also in orientation. Here energy of dominant orientations (angles) in a given...
